  • Testimonials

We chose the RM Learning Platform for Pulteney Grammar School as it is the best Learning Management solution available in the market today. From our evaluations of many platforms we have determined that although RM Learning Platform requires some extra understanding from staff, the depth of applications and resourcefulness is fantastic.

Our entire school is utilising the platform in a variety of ways dependent on the student/teacher/parent interactions and the uptake from the staff has been consistent from ELC through to Year 12 teachers. It allows our school to truly take advantage of 1:1 learning and the students have more opportunities to delve into subject material, store work in their e-Portfolio, to communicate effectively, and the push News feed will make the diaries, bulletins and sports notices redundant.

A wonderful product that will roll all of our previous packages into one easy to manage, student loved, solution.”

Jarrod Johnson – Learning Management System Manager, Pulteney Grammar School – South Australia

We had a well established Intranet with Moodle bolted on and we decided we needed a full Learning Management system to move the College forward. We had a vigorous selection process and identified the key LMS providers to evaluate. The RM Learning Platform was selected by our E-Learning committee as being the most comprehensive and intuitive to use. We have been impressed with the solution and the ongoing support that Civica Education provide.

Mandurah Catholic College were looking for a learning platform that was able to engage 21 century learners to access information to enhance their learning.

We were also keen on parents having access to what their child was learning and seeing students work in real time. RM Learning Platform has that functionality.

Teachers can set work, assessments, multimedia presentations for all students in their class to view and complete online within the portal and can be accessed anywhere and at anytime.

We believe in a 21 Century learning environment and RM Learning Platform caters for that. Having access to support personnel was an important factor in choosing RM Learning Platform as our LMS.

  • System Requirements

RM Learning Platform is what’s called a Web application. How does that differ from a normal Web site? With a Web application you will need to be logged in, you could be sending large amounts of data back and forth, and you may be doing this on many PCs at once over your school’s internet connection which is shared with everyone else searching for information, teaching lessons, and so on.

The computer that you’re using for browsing can make a big difference to the speed a page is displayed. As a rule the more powerful your computer the faster it will process and display pages. Here are some recommendations:

    Minimum specification
Operating System : Microsoft® Windows® XP or later, or Mac OS X 10.4 or later
Hard Disk: 2Gb of free disk space
    Processor: 2.2Ghz or faster
    Memory: 1GB RAM

Because RM Learning Platform is delivered as a Web service the only software that you need to access the service is an Internet browser and Adobe® Flash Player.

RM Learning Platform supports the following Internet browsers:

Microsoft® Internet Explorer 8.0 or 7.0 on Windows XP (or later) platforms.
Mozilla Firefox™ 3 (or later) on Windows XP (or later) and Apple® Macintosh® platforms.
Safari® 3 on Windows XP (or later) and Apple® Macintosh® platforms (previous versions were not supported).

Additional browsers and operating systems may be supported in the future. Browsers and operating systemsnot listed above may work completely or partially, but their use for RM Learning Platform has not been tested and therefore they are not supported by RM Learning Platform at this time.

    The browser must:

Be confgured to accept session cookies.
    Be capable of 128-bit encryption.

    Internet Connectivity Requirements

You will require a minimum of 2Mbps Broadband connection from the Curriculum network for users to access the RM Learning Platform from the school; however a simple rule to follow would be that the greater your Broadband connection the faster data can be transferred delivering a faster experience. With video conferencing each concurrent video connection will require a minimum of 0.5Mbps for the optimum experience. Access for home users will also require an Internet connection; a Broadband connection is also recommended for access outside the school.
